About the Project

Our group works on the assessment of species conservation status using data driven approaches. Using databases on species traits, ecology or trends, we using state-of-the-art modelling approaches to make predictions of future conservation status. In recent work we have applied these approaches to predict the conservation statust of data deficient mammals and amphibians, as well as to map global ecological trends. We are interested to hear from applicants who would like to work in this area. An area of focus could be to develop predictions of extinction threat to species that integrate spatial, temporal and phylogenetic data. Training will include statistical modelling, GIS and data handling.
