PhD in Data Analytics for Context Aware Decision Making
Applications are invited for a PhD fellowship at the INSIGHT Centre for Data Analytics, Dublin City University. The position is funded by Allied Irish Banks. The research project will be carried out in collaboration with the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid in Spain and the Geary Institute at University College Dublin.
This is a 4 year fully funded structured PhD position with a stipend of €18,500 per year (tax-free, tutition fees are paid for by AIB). There will be additional support for exchange visits to Madrid, as well as sponsorship for international conference travel.
This research project will focus on the application of techniques from machine learning and artificial intelligence to gather data on user social and environmental contexts for the purposes of experimental exploration of user decision making in natural settings. This is a multidisciplinary research topic and requires interaction with social scientists, computer scientists, mathematicians and psychologists. Candidates with an interest in behavioural psychology and cognitive science are likely to find the research particularly interesting.
