About the Project

Are you looking to get advanced doctorate-level training and become a future quantum engineer? We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic student to join our research team for one of our PhD projects in Quantum Technology and THz Nanoelectronics.

The PhD candidate will work on aspects of Quantum Technology and more specifically on high frequency ultrafast flying qubits in solid-state systems. The candidate will be involved in advanced nanofabrication in our state-of-the-art cleanroom and perform experimental research and characterization of Quantum Nanoelectronic devices.

The project will require both individual and group work in collaborative environments and the successful candidate should be capable of working in both environments. Experience with computer programming (C or C++ or Python or Matlab etc) or data acquisition and analysis is not essential but it is recommended.

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic candidates with interests in Quantum Technology or Nanoscience or High Frequency Nanoelectronics.

You will need to have an MSc degree (or equivalent) in Physics or Engineering or Nanosciences.

Funding Notes

Funding is available for UK or EU-candidates (settled or pre-settled status) and it covers tuition fees and stipend for up to 3.5 years.
However, international students with their own funding are encouraged to apply as well.
