About the Project

One PhD scholarship is available for a student to study magnetic thin films and/or nanoparticles using theoretical physics techniques, at the University of Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. Both analytic and computational calculations will be used to tackle problems in the area of magnetism.

Eligibility Criteria:

–      The applicant must meet the minimum eligibility criteria for admission to a PhD at University of Newcastle.

–      A degree in Physics or a closely related subject is required.

–      A strong background in Mathematics and core Physics subjects is necessary.

–      Experience with coding and/or numerical software packages is desirable.
