Applications are invited from self-funded PhD students to analyse data from the 100,000 genomes project.
A background or a strong interest in at least one of the following areas is strongly preferred: statistical genetics, computational biology, big data, bioinformatics, programming (R and Python), AI or machine learning. Some familiarity with UK Biobank, genetic databases and GWAS would also be an asset.
The project will investigate the genetics of complex disease, especially cardiovascular or neurological disease.
The studentship is available on a part-time or full-time basis and fees will be waived. Opportunities to teach will also be available.
We are seeking a highly motivated and independent candidate. The prospective candidate will have the option of working off-site remotely. The project is available to start immediately.
