Dr Gerrit De Waal, Prof Adela McMurray  No more applications being accepted  Funded PhD Project (Students Worldwide)

About the Project

The successful candidate(s) will be based at RMIT at the Melbourne campus. They will be expected to carry out independent research while being supervised by researchers in the RMIT College of Business within the School of Management, and by researchers from The Center for Frugal Innovation within TUHH.

The precise details of the PhD research are flexible and responsive to the successful applicant’s expertise and interests, in consultation with the supervisors. Successful candidates can be either domestic or international and will enrol at both RMIT and TUHH for a maximum of 3 years (with a possibility of 6 months extension) as full-time candidates, and spend between one to two years maximum at the host university (RMIT) and a maximum of one year at TUHH.

Each candidate must meet the requirement for admission and graduation of both institutions, as will be set out in an individual agreement with both institutions and the successful candidate. The final written thesis for examination will be submitted to both institutions and the candidate must also undertake an oral defence as part of TUHH's component of the examination. Successful candidates will be awarded a PhD degree from each institution, acknowledging the joint supervision and award.

In addition to the scholarship, research candidates in the Cotutelle Program also have access to funding for research trips spanning conferences and major events relevant to their own independent research, as well as other research-related expenses.
