About the Project

A PhD researcher position are available within the group of Dr Yongjing Wang in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, School of Engineering at the University of Birmingham to work on a new £1.8M EPSRC project on digitally enabled circular economy. The focus will be on investigating machine learning and data fusion techniques for creating decision making and planning techniques in the context of industrial robotics. The project involves collaboration with other research groups within and outside the University of Birmingham, as well as industrial partners. The successful candidate will be required to 1. Generate high-quality research outputs 2. Organise and deliver impact and dissemination activities with a wide range of stakeholders including industrial partners and research organisations 3. Contribute to writing bids and generating funding 4. Funding notes:

It covers UK home tuition fees and an annual tax-free stipend. International applicants are strongly encouraged to apply and to seek funding to cover the difference between the home and international tuition fees.
