About the Project

The Institute of Molecular Tumor Biology is offering as soon as possible a position limited to 3 years as a PhD student in the department of Molecular Stem Cell Biology, headed by Prof. Frank Rosenbauer (https://www.medizin.uni-muenster.de/imtb/rosenbauer-lab/).

Applicants are invited to join our research team at the Institute of Molecular Tumor Biology. Our group has a long-term interest in elucidating molecular mechanisms controling blood stem cell functions and leukemia development (see for example Fischer et al. 2019 Nature Immunology, Schützmann et al. 2019 BLOOD and Riemke et al. 2016 The EMBO Journal).

We are currently seeking a highly motivated scientific fellow interested in obtaining a PhD in molecular cancer biology. We are offering a research project on the epigenetic role of transcription factors in leukemic stem cells. Findings from this project could be an important step towards developing novel therapy concepts for the treatment of leukemia patients.

The research fellow will use a wide arsenal of state-of-the-art technologies established in our team, reaching from in vivo leukemia models to single cell next generation sequencing. Candidates should have experience with tissue culture and standard molecular biology methods. Basic knowledge in computational analysis of next generation sequencing data and/or hands-on experience in working with laboratory mice would be an advantage. A good command of the English language is required.

We offer a productive and dynamic environment within a team of experienced researchers.

For more information on the advertised position please contact Prof. Frank Rosenbauer, frank.rosenbauer@ukmuenster.de.

Formal applications in English including a cover letter with a brief statement of research experience and interests, a CV with education certificates and grades as well as contact information of possible referees may be sent with the reference number until 17.11.2021 to Personalgewinnung des Universitätsklinikums Münster, Bewerbermanagement, Albert-Schweitzer-Campus 1, Gebäude D5, 48149 Münster or as one complete pdf-file to [Email Address Removed].

Applications of women are specifically invited. In the case of similar qualifications, competence, and specific achievements, women will be considered on preferential terms within the framework of the legal possibilities. Handicapped candidates with equivalent qualifications will be given preference.

The University Hospital of Münster is one of the leading hospitals in Germany. Such a position cannot be achieved by size and medical successes alone. The individual commitment counts above all. We need your commitment so that even with little things we can achieve great things for our patients. There are many possibilities open for you so that you may develop with them.
