Interested in Information and Communication Technologies for Buildings and Energy Management? This project will investigate ICT development and Data Quality enhancement for Building Energy Management. The aim is to develop novel techniques for an ICT framework for Home Area Networks (including residential, commercial, and industrial buildings), while focusing on enhancing the data quality in the ICT framework.
You will be based in the School of Engineering, collaborating alongside the ABC (Active Building Centre) project, working in a community of researchers. This provides unique opportunities to develop research within a vibrant consortium of leading UK universities. The ABC aims to revolutionise the way the UK designs, constructs and operates buildings by realising the potential for the integration of advanced offsite manufacturing with state of the art digital design. This will include the integration of energy generation, storage, and control technologies to create Active Buildings which substantially reduce the operational costs of buildings and their demand on the UK energy infrastructure.

You must have, or expect to achieve, at least a 2:1 honours degree in an engineering/computer science or a related subject or international equivalent.
