About the Project

Activities and responsibilities: We are looking for a highly motivated PhD candidate interested in bioorganic chemistry, chemical biology and interdisciplinary research at the chemistry/biology interface. The project involves the development methods for the covalent labelling of receptor proteins using DNA or PNA conjugates. This involves solid phase synthesis, the preparation of dye conjugates, HPLC, optical spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, flow cytometry, as well as tasks for the scientific qualification (doctorate).

Requirements: Master degree in the field of (bio)organic chemistry / biochemistry, chemical biology (preferably with very good grades); experience in peptide chemistry. Cell biology is desireable. The ideal candidate is familiar with interdisciplinary research approaches and has very good command in spoken and written English.

Application: Please send your application (containing statement of purpose, CV, copies of relevant degree certificates and a contact person for reference) by quoting the reference number AN/009/21 to Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Department of Chemistry, Prof. Dr. Oliver Seitz (located: Brook-Taylor-Str. 2, Berlin-Adlershof), Unter den Linden 6, 10099 Berlin, Germany or preferably as a pdf document to the E mail address [Email Address Removed].

Application Deadline: 02.03.2021
