PhD Thesis in Bioorganic Chemistry – Synthesis of posttranslationally modified proteins, analysis, and biological evaluation
We are looking for a highly motivated PhD candidate interested in bioorganic chemistry and interdisciplinary research at the chemistry/biochemistry interface. The project involves the chemical synthesis of posttranslationally modified proteins with a repeat structure and their biological evaluation. This includes solid phase peptide synthesis, the development of hplc-free purification methods, and bioassays. The position also includes teaching in organic chemistry seminars and lab courses, publication of scientific results, and tasks for the scientific qualification (doctorate/dissertation).
Master degree or equivalent in (bio)organic chemistry, preferably with very good results, ideally experience in peptide synthesis. The ideal candidate has command over organic chemistry and analytical methods as well as interdisciplinary research approaches, very good communication and English skills, capability of interdisciplinary work.
