About the Project

This exciting opportunity for an occupational therapist or physiotherapist aims to help develop research leadership skills alongside clinical skills. It consists of a four-year training programme which will provide both academic leadership training at Bournemouth University (three days a week) and clinical practice training at Dorchester County Hospital Foundation Trust (DCHFT) in the hand therapy department (two days a week).

The aims of this four-year clinical PhD are to co-design and explore the feasibility of implementing a pre-surgical rehabilitation intervention for those undergoing hand surgery.

This project was identified by clinicians in practice, thereby ensuring this research is more likely to have greater societal impact as clinicians will have the opportunity to make use of the results to influence more immediate changes in clinical practice and patient outcomes.

Applications are made via Bournemouth University’s website by clicking ’institution website’ button. If you have an enquiry about this project please contact us via the ’Email institution’ button, however your application will only be processed once you have submitted an application form as opposed to emailing your CV to us.
