About the Project

A choice of Primary Care projects are available:

a) Exergaming: a novel approach to managing osteoarthritis of the knee.

b) Impact of opioid use on adverse events in the oldest population

c) Primary care based interventions for those with multimorbidity: Taking health literacy into account.

d) Primary care management of musculoskeletal pain for young people with mental health conditions (THIS PROJECT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE)

e) Evidence-informed self-management among older adults with musculoskeletal pain and comorbidities in community settings: A knowledge mobilisation study.

This fellowship will provide an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to join an internationally recognised research group and work with an experienced supervisory team including methodologists and healthcare professional practitioners. We aim to encourage interdisciplinarity in our research, which are conducted at the intersection of social science, clinical medicine, epidemiology, biostatistics, health services research, and/or data science. The projects will therefore suit candidates with a wide range of backgrounds. The successful candidate will be supported and encouraged to gain or strengthen transferable skills in a range of quantitative and/or qualitative research methods, report their research findings to a wide audience including patients and members of the public, healthcare practitioners, and the scientific community.

Funding Notes

UK nationals are eligible for full funding (tuition fees and stipend). Students with overseas status are welcome to apply but may need to fund the remainder of their fees from alternative sources.
