About the Project

This inter-disciplinary project, based across the Schools of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at the University of Leeds, will develop novel reactor systems to synthesise cadmium free quantum dots in continuous flow. Specifically, the transfer the synthesis of non-toxic QDs to automated, continuous flow will be performed to enable reaction conditions (temp. cooling rate, residence time etc) and QD composition to be explored using in-line analytics and performance directed feedback loops.

Funding Notes

A highly competitive EPSRC Doctoral Training Partnership Studentship consisting of the award of fees with a maintenance grant (currently £16,062 for session 2022/23) for 3.5 years. This opportunity is open to all applicants. All candidates will be placed into the EPSRC Doctoral Training Partnership Studentship Competition and selection is based on academic merit.
