Project Description

Finding effective ways to change attitudes and behaviour is an important focus of social psychology. Prejudice and discrimination against individuals based on their race, sexuality, gender etc., remains a large issue in the UK, and so it is important that we examine ways in which we can reduce prejudice, and bolster positive intergroup relations and behaviour. This PhD project could explore ways in which to increase the effectiveness of existing prejudice-reduction techniques (e.g. imagined contact) or behaviour change interventions (including those from other fields such as health behaviour change) or involve designing and testing new interventions to improve intergroup relations.

Funding Notes

Self funded or sponsored students only. No University funding available.

NB The University has some tuition fee scholarship under competition - application deadline is 23 January 2019 at 5pm
