Regulation of protein-protein interactions

  • Full or part time
  • Application Deadline
    Thursday, October 31, 2019
  • Funded PhD Project (Students Worldwide)
    Funded PhD Project (Students Worldwide)

Project Description

The project is focused on the regulation of protein interactions, which have been associated with numerous diseases including cancer. The regulations involve posttranslational modifications, changes of salt and protein concentrations, or pH. Revealing and understanding these regulatory mechanisms is not only important general knowledge, but it could also be useful in the design of new treatments. The research will be strongly coupled to collaborations with excellent experimental teams and more closely discussed during the interview. The student will master the tools of multi-scale simulations using a wide range of techniques ranging from atomistic to coarse-grained simulations. Moreover, he/she will learn the advantages and disadvantages of various protein parameterizations, and advanced sampling techniques.

Keywords: protein interactions, posttranslational modifications, multi-scale simulations, protein motifs design, protein parameterization

HOW TO APPLY: Register for this call using the registration form at
and submit required documents to receive support with the preparation of the application and all formalities. Your application package will be forwarded to the supervisor for preliminary revision.
Applicants who wish to pursue a degree at the CEITEC PhD programme must hold the equivalent of a Master’s degree (MSc) in similar field (four or five year undergraduate degree). The application can be submitted before obtaining the Master’s degree, however, the applicant should obtain the degree within five month after the application deadline.
