The School of Computer Science at the University of Auckland is looking for applications for PhD students under the supervision of Dr Joerg Wicker.
The position is an opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research in the area of both machine learning and its application to Bioinformatics, Cheminformatics, Computational Sustainability, and Privacy.
We are inviting new PhD students to join our research project that will take challenging data sets and problems from above applications and develop new machine learning algorithms to address them.
PhD candidates are expected to have a solid computer science or statistics background and experience in programming, either from academic studies or practice.
Successful PhD candidates will also benefit from a vibrant research culture and interactions with computer scientists at the School and scientists at the Faculty, many of whom are international leaders in their fields.
