Robotics, Biomechatronics and Control

School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Applications accepted all year round  Self-Funded PhD Students Only

About the Project

This project covers themes of bioinspiration for robotics and control but also include non-bioinspired areas that might focus on industrial or healthcare/medical applications. A key theme of research is the development of technologies for soft robots, for instance control of artificial muscle actuators. These actuators will likely be important for future intrinsically safe, compliant robots, which could be deployed in unstructured environments such as homes, hospitals and schools, as well as exoskeleton technology.
