Project Description

This PhD will examine perivascular biomarkers at the feto-maternal interface and their role in fetal growth restriction. The PhD will start with a systematic review of the literature and the identification of novel perivascular biomarkers for fetal growth restriction. This will be followed by assessing these biomarkers in the prediction and/or diagnosis of fetal growth restriction from clinical samples. If of value, these will be combined with other risk factors such as body mass index (BMI) as part of a risk stratification algorithm to predict and/or diagnose fetal growth restriction.

Entry requirements

UK Bachelor Degree 2:1 or better, or UK Master’s Degree in Medicine, Medical Sciences, Health Sciences, Natural Sciences or overseas equivalent.
