About the Project

The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) Atmospheric Chemistry Group ( is seeking a talented and motivated graduate student to perform research on the understanding, analysis, and use of satellite observations of atmospheric trace gases in atmospheric chemistry and air quality studies. The research entails the utilization of observations from polar-orbiting satellites such as TROPOMI, as well as geostationary platforms such as GEMS and TEMPO.

The successful candidate will be using such observations in conjunction with air quality models for validation and improving emission estimates. Knowledge of atmospheric chemistry, computer programing, and numerical modeling are preferred. Graduate research assistant stipends ($26,000 to $28,400 per year) and full tuitions (around $18,000 per year) will be paid.
