About the Project
Water-retaining structures are used for different purposes however the main purpose of using them is to control movement or presence of water. Dams are the most well-known examples of such structures. In this study, different shapes, orientations, locations, and a combination these factors will be investigation of cut-off walls under the dams to find an optimum situation to minimize the movement of water through sub-structure or the structure itself too in case of earth dams. Experimental and numerical investigation and modelling will be conducted to full fill the objectives of the research work. Journal and conference publications and presentations will be published to disseminate the research outcomes.
