Project Description

This project studies the joint design to achieve the coexistence between the current radar and communication services. More fundamentally, dual-functional devices and systems that can simultaneously perform remote sensing and transmit useful information via classical communications appear as an essential enabler for the future, not only ensuring the spectral coexistence but also mutual benefits for both radar and communication’s performance. This project is in collaboration with leading defence industry Leonardo, Edinburgh (UK residency requirement needed)

These projects demand that the research student already possesses exceptional knowledge in advanced signal processing and communication together with very high mathematical ability and programming skills. In particular the PhD student needs to have prior knowledge in applied mathematics, multivariate statistical analysis, information theory and should be familiar with various advance wireless communication techniques.
