A SNSF 4-year PhD position is available in the iBMLab (Eye and Brain Mapping Laboratory) of the Visual and Social Neuroscience Research Group, headed by Prof. Roberto Caldara at the Department of Psychology, University of Fribourg, in Switzerland. The studies comprised as part of the grant will investigate facial expression recognition of static and dynamic stimuli using fMRI, EEG, and eye-tracking methods in clinical, developmental, and healthy adult populations. Required qualifications and skills:
- Masters degree in Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience or related field.
- Experience in psychological experimentation.
- Basic programming skills and/or high motivation to become proficient in Matlab and R.
- Strong analytical and statistical skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Good scientific writing and communication skills (in English).
Desired:
- Basic experience with cognitive neuroscience methods, e.g. psychophysics, eye tracking, fMRI, EEG or similar. - Experience with developmental, lifespan or clinical cohorts.
- The position does not require teaching. The University of Fribourg is a bilingual university (French & German). Basic French or German language skills are an advantage but not a requirement.
