About the Project

Stroke is the third largest killer and by 2050, World Health Organisation predicts that 80% of the world’s burden will lie between India and China.

We have amassed one of the largest collection of stroke databases in South Asians, recruiting patients from UK, India, Qatar and the Sri Lanka. We have extensive phenotyping data as well and blood samples for DNA analysis.

This PhD project will join our group to analyse this large dataset and determine what are the factors that contribute to stroke in South Asians and compare and contrast those factors with stroke in Caucasians.
