Study of CO2 Utilisation for Dimethyl Carbonate Production (DMC) through Process Modelling and Simulation

School of Chemical, Materials and Biological Engineering

Applications accepted all year round  Self-Funded PhD Students Only

About the Project

CO2 concentration in the atmosphere is increasing which causes global warming and climate change. How to use the captured CO2 is a key question to answer. DMC is an important product with wide applications. DMC synthesis from CO2 and methanol is a main production route. Different catalysts and dehydrating agents also play an important role. Techno-economic analysis and life cycle assessment based on reliable models can provide insights regarding how to improve the process design and operation.
