Supervisory Control System Using Wireless Network

Project Description

In this project a supervisory control system will be developed to support Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). WSN are increasingly used in a multitude of applications such as environmental and structural health monitoring, and condition-based maintenance. In this project, a WSN will be developed and combined with supervisory control system architecture to manage the information gathered by the WSN and make decisions based on these information in the events of alarms, faults, controllers tuning etc. The system will be implemented to a well known non-linear chemical process, the distillation column. The work will be conducted using Opnet for wireless communication protocols which will be interfaced with Matlab for the process simulation and controllers developments. Different controllers will be investigated, namely predictive and intelligent control systems.
