About the Project

We have recently shown that ynones armed with the synthetically versatile trifluoroborate functional group can be elaborated to a range of useful heteroaromatic building blocks (Ref 1) and that these offer useful platforms for drug discovery (Ref 2). The objectives of this project are to (1) devise a more convergent route to ynone trifluoroborates that is simple and scalable; (2) to expand the range of products that can be accessed by these substrates to include ‘natural products like’ chemical space.
