About the Project

Myopia (short-sightedness) is estimated to be as prevalent as 50% of the world population by 2050, thus myopia management is a minimum ethical standard of patient care in children. The World Council of Optometry recommends that teachers through an awareness of myopia management, be instrumental in limiting progressive myopia in children. The impact of an investigation into teacher awareness, allows for grass roots interventions at teacher training level.
