About the Project

People living with low vision have difficulty with a number of aspects of their vision, one of which is the ability to see things in depth. The impact of this on their day-to-day lives is poorly understood at present but may affect how well they can judge the distance between objects, potentially putting them at an increased risk of falls. This project will aim to investigate depth judgements under a variety of conditions so that we can better understand the problems that patients with low vision face and develop strategies to assist them.

If you are interested in any of these projects, please contact the relevant supervisor for an informal discussion. To apply, please send an email outlining your motivation and experience to the supervisor and [Email Address Removed] including a CV and the names of two referees by the closing date on Tuesday 28th June 2022.

The studentships are open to citizens of the UK and cover the full cost of tuition fees and an annual tax-free bursary of £16,062 for three years (RCUK rates). Successful applicants should have a first or upper second undergraduate degree or Masters degree in a relevant subject.
