About This PhD Project

Project Description

Over the last few years, the UK Government has legislated increasingly restrictive changes to the entitlements of migrant women to maternity services. There is little research related to the impact of this on the health of perinatal migrant women and their babies. Research is urgently needed to address this.

A PhD proposal could focus on one aspect (or all) of the above- access, experiences or outcomes. It could focus on a particular category of migrant women such as women deemed as ‘illegal migrants’ or asylum seekers and refugees.

This PhD is associated with the work of COST working group 3- social- cultural perspectives. Successful applicants will be able to benefit from this wider European research community in particular applying for an STSM or early career investigator training
