About the Project

It is well documented that migrant women experience barriers accessing maternity care. These include language barriers, cultural differences, lack of understanding of services and also financial barriers. Migrant women are more likely than citizens to have an adverse pregnancy outcome; therefore, it is essential that research examines how these barriers can be addressed. Your research may address a category of migrant woman e.g. asylum seeker or refugee, a geographical location or a particular barrier to accessing maternity care

This project would provide you the opportunity to join the newly formed Northern Maternity Stream Research Network to link with other researchers interested in maternity and migrant research in this area and across Europe https://maternityresearch.cityofsanctuary.org/
