The role of global chromatin organization in tumor cell migration

Department of Molecular Biology

Applications accepted all year round Funded PhD Project (Students Worldwide)

About the Project

My laboratory is seeking for a highly motivated PhD student to study the role of global chromatin organization in tumor cell migration. Previously we found that migration of melanoma cells is associated with and dependent on global chromatin condensation ( ). Recently, this characteristic has been found in additional types of cells, suggesting it is a general signature of migrating cells ( ).

Our goal is to understand the changes in chromatin structure in migrating cells and the molecular mechanisms by which they support cell migration.

Highly motivated candidates with a successful MSc degree in biological sciences are encouraged to apply. Successful candidate should be fluent in English with experience in molecular biology or cell biology techniques. Some knowledge in bioinformatic techniques is a plus but not a prerequisite.

Ariel University offers a collaborative and friendly research environment. PhD students are offered a full 4 years competitive scholarship.
