About the Project

The role of signalling pathways in the initiation and progression of cancer is an extensively studied but not understood field. How cancer can initiate and keep progressing is something that fascinates researchers. What this project will entail is carrying out a novel screen to identify novel genes involved in this process and analyse how the identified genes and pathway contribute to the initiation and progression of colorectal cancer. Techniques to be utilized will include: Cell culture, Biochemical and molecular biology based techniques.

Please note this is a self-funded project and students are expected to cover the costs of both tuition fees and bench fees.

Students are also expected to have some experience in the techniques and a first class or upper second class honours degree.
