Project Description

The successful candidate will be enrolled on the PhD in Business and Mangement at Cardiff Business School.

My research focuses on the social and cultural aspects of marketing. Using ethnographic approaches, I am specifically interested in the areas of experiential consumption, multisensory consumption and extremity. My research stream is centered around the role of the body in consumer research. I would be excited to work with a PhD candidate that is interested in blending discrete and overlapping bodies of work from consumer behavior, marketing, sociology and anthropology, which facilitate an understanding of embodied consumption. Specific topics that I would be interested in exploring further with a PhD candidate include but are not limited to the consumer experience of: food, sport, health and beauty, medicine/healthcare fashion, nature, travel and wellness.

Applicant profile:
The ideal candidate has a specialist Master Degree in Business, Management or related subjects from an internationally renowned University. Applicants with a strong first degree will also be considered. The ideal applicant has the motivation and ability to critically engage with relevant academic literature and conduct primary research using qualitative techniques (training can be offered).
