Industry partner: Suez Group
Applications are invited for a PhD studentship in the Department of Engineering. The research aims to develop an uncertainty based approach to estimate social value expected across the life cycle of a complex project or process in relation to public procurement. Social value quantifies the net positive value created for the economy, environment, and society. In parallel, the research will improve understanding of the barriers of social value creation and develop a co-creation based methodology (i.e. SUEZ) local authorities and the local communities) to generate more social value against the estimate. The research outcome will create thought leadership and impact on the social value area for public procurement processes, service delivery and provide an approach such as a tool or framework to support SUEZ and its stakeholders to use the findings to improve approaches to social value creation.
