Toward a theory of evidence-based product design - Investigating the potentials of big data and Artificial Intelligence for the domain of design

Project Description

Big data is here to stay. It is transforming the way businesses operate. Advances in social media, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things have had a substantial influence on the amount of data that is available to the businesses today. Even though scholars have started to investigate the implications of big data in different sectors, we are less informed about how big data is going to shape design in general and product design in particular. This project aims to investigate the potentials of big data and Artificial Intelligence for the domain of design. Specifically, the project explores the idea of evidence-based product design by investigating how big data can shape decision making in product design.

Applicants interested in this research project should submit a more detailed research proposal (of a maximum of 2000 words)
