Towards in vivo scoring tissue integrity in health and disease.

Project Description

Tissue integrity in a body is indicative of health and disease status and is associated with mechanical properties of tissues. We propose a new pathway for in vivo tissue scoring using high resolution MRI histology (Pavlovskaya) of healthy and pathological tissue samples available in Nottingham (Scott) and mathematical modelling of tissues scores using MRI histology (Graham). As mechanical properties will be derived from the MRI data we will attempt tissue scoring in vivo in collaboration with Professors Auer and Meersmann. In vivo mechanical property tissue evaluation should be available in the end of this project.
