About the Project

We study epilepsy and epigenetic diseases. We identify disease-causing genes, decipher disease pathophysiology, and improve the management of children affected by these conditions. See for example our work here: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-018-06014-6 and here: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41436-020-00950-9

The project involves using cell and mouse models to better understand the pathophysiology of specific neurodevelopmental disorders. A better understand of disease mechanisms, for example understanding which cells or organelles are most affected, may lead to the development of better targeted therapies.
