Understanding the molecular mechanism of post-transcriptional regulation in eukaryotas

About This PhD Project

Project Description

A molecular biology laboratory is seeking highly motivated Ph.D./MSc candidates to study two projects related to understanding the role of post-transcriptional regulation in gene expression and cell function in Eukaryotas:
1. Developing an efficient genomic integration method to visualize the localization of endogenous mRNAs in living yeast. Local mRNA translation is involved in cell-fate determination (1), thus, specialized tools to monitor mRNA trafficking in living individual cells are needed.
2. An ongoing study is focusing on the role of noncoding RNA molecules in diagnostic of hematological cancer (2). We employ multiple experimental approaches using high-throughput methods, advanced molecular cell biology methods, and bioinformatics tools. We are interested to discover specific biomarkers for cancer diagnostics. Discovering these molecules will help to perform monitoring of treatments efficiency and relapse stage of diseases.

Successful candidates should be fluent in English with experience in molecular biology and microscopy techniques. Ariel University offers a collaborative and friendly research environment and a full competitive scholarship.

For further details, you are encouraged to contact Dr. Stella Aronov (). Please include a short background and CV.
