The Institute of Chemistry is looking for a

University Assistant without doctorate (25 hours a week; fixed-term employment for the period of 4 years; position to be filled as of November 2nd 2020 )

Your duties

- Characterization of functional molecules adsorbed on surfaces
- Manipulation of single molecules with scanning tunnelling microscopy
- Investigation of chemical reactions on surfaces by microscopy and spectroscopy
 Possibility to work on a relevant dissertation  Participation in teaching, organisational and administrative tasks

Your profile
 Master degree in chemistry or physics (or related subjects)
 Knowledge in at least one of the following areas is desired: surface science, scanning probe microscopy, ultra-high-vacuum or low-temperature techniques
 Very good written and spoken English knowledge
 High motivation
 Ability to work in a team
 Ability to work independently
 Didactic skills for independent teaching

Our offer


Salary scheme of the Universitäten-KV (University Collective Agreement): B1

Minimum salary

The minimum salary as stated in the collective agreement and according to the classification scheme is EUR 1830.60 gross/month. This minimum salary may be higher due to previous employment periods eligible for inclusion and other earnings and remunerations.
