About the Project

This high impact interdisciplinary PhD aims to assess the value of implementing a newly developed wave overtopping monitoring system to the transport operations and subsequent rail services of an infamous piece of coastal transport infrastructure in the southwest of England. It blends state of the art coastal science with transport engineering practice and management into a study that could significantly change the way we manage coastal defences in the UK, and help asset manager’s plan/adapt more effectively for longer-term coastal change.
