Project Description

The aim is to use compost with already proven and tested biochar for use in vineyards previously affected by drought. Specifically, the experiment will take place in a vineyard created as part of the reclamation of the brown coal dump near the city of Most. Within this theme, the retention of water and nutrients will be monitored by means of long-term measurement of soil moisture, resp. regular collection of soil water for chemical composition analysis. Laboratory experiments will also be carried out to test the retention properties of the treated soil and to monitor the growth of young vine seedlings during the pot experiment. Experiments also take place in a selected vineyard in San Juan, Argentina.
