Dr David Wynn  Applications accepted all year round  Competition Funded PhD Project (Students Worldwide)

About the Project

This project will concern application of virtual/augmented reality to support collaborative product development. The research will build on existing work at the university of Auckland to investigate how advanced design information can be attached to CAD models, can be communicated using VR/AR, and can be used to inform decisions during the design process. The ultimate objective is to support collaboration and reduce unnecessary design rework, especially in large and geographically distributed projects.

The student will join the design and development research group at the University of Auckland, where a number of PhD students are working on related topics.

To apply for this project, please submit an online application by clicking the button labelled "Visit Website". EMAIL APPLICATIONS MAY NOT RECEIVE A RESPONSE. On the application form, ensure you enter the correct supervisor (DC Wynn), department (Mechanical Engineering) and project title (as above) so that your application is correctly routed. The application form will require you to upload a "Statement of Research Intent", which can be based on this advertisement text, adding some of your own thoughts about the project.
