Organic and Supramolecular Chemistry - Design and synthesis of stimuli-responsive amphiphiles for the assembly of smart liposomes

A fully funded PhD scholarship is currently available for a student with an interest in organic synthesis and supramolecular chemistry. This project will investigate the design and synthesis of amphiphilic molecules that are able to change their self-assembly behaviour in response an an applied stimulus. Chemical functionalization of cellulose to produce sustainable surfactants for industrial applications

A fully funded PhD scholarship is currently available for a student with an interest in both organic chemistry and materials science. The goal of this project is to chemically modify cellulose with organic molecules derived from waste biomass in New Zealand to impart tunable amphiphilic properties.
