The Department of Social Work and Social Care is recruiting to one PhD scholarship, starting in late September 2022. A start of January 2023 could also be considered. .
The project seeks to address radicalisation, an important societal issue which undermines public safety, wellbeing, and the effective functioning of a society.
Studies in Ableism (SiA) is now a recognised sub-specialism of critical disability studies and focuses on ways that abledment (the process of being/becoming ‘abled’) is located within societal processes and practices.
Miles (2013) estimates that at least half of all the world’s disabled people live Asia.
The project aims to examine how different types of narratives might energise the supporters of the far-right movement and drive them to engage in political violence.
