PhD in Enantioselective Catalysis and mechanistic studies

Our research is currently directed towards developing catalytic methods for the promotion of a range of synthetic transformations with varying applications in asymmetric synthesis. Read more

PhD in Optoelectronic Materials or Photocatalysis

Members of the Zysman-Colman group conduct research at the interface of organic or organometallic optoelectronic materials, physical organic, and supramolecular chemistry. Read more

PhD Scholarship in Population Studies / Demography: to investigate spatial and contextual aspects of migrant and ethnic minority employment, family, and housing in the UK.

We invite applications from qualified and highly motivated students for a 3-year PhD studentship to investigate spatial and contextual aspects of migrant and ethnic minority employment, family, and housing in the UK. The study will compare migrant life trajectories between different regions and/or will investigate the effect of contextual factors on migrant employment, family, and housing. Enantioselective Catalysis with Reactive Intermediates

Research in the Johnston group broadly focuses on the development of new catalytic reactions for i) the streamlined synthesis of known small molecules or ii) unprecedented access to novel building blocks, with potential applications in drug discovery and agrochemistry. Read more

Cosmological Modified Gravity simulations with massive sterile neutrinos

This project would involve setting up a large (>100 Mpc) cosmological simulation in the Modified Gravity (MOND) framework, but supplemented with 11 eV sterile neutrinos to make up the same total dark energy and matter density as in the Lambda Cold Dark Matter (ΛCDM) cosmology. Read more

EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Applied Photonics

Our CDT has been funded by EPSRC and Industry since 2001 and we are the longest running Centre for Doctoral Training in Photonics in the UK. Read more

Next-generation Hybrid perovskites for Indoor photovoltaics

The world is increasingly using low-power, electronic devices in myriad ways, including sensors for the Internet of Things (IoT), where billions of objects are connected to the internet to make a smart network. Read more
