Scholarships in the Department of Chemistry

Up to 10 fully-funded PhD studentships in chemistry at Imperial College London

Each year, the Department of Chemistry at Imperial College London awards up to 10 Chemistry Doctoral Scholarships to outstanding PhD applicants, funded by the EPSRC Doctoral Training Partnership Account. Successful Scholars will receive full tuition fees and a stipend at advertised EPSRC rates.

The Department of Chemistry at Imperial College London was ranked among the best in the UK in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF) with 96% of its staff rated as either ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’. The Department was ranked 4th in Europe in the 2017 QS World University Ranking.

We welcome applications from dedicated and talented students, with the drive to conduct PhD research. Projects are funded across the whole of our scientific remit, which is underpinned by our core Research Themes:

How to apply

Application for a Chemistry Doctoral Scholarship is through the support of a prospective PhD supervisor. Therefore, in order to apply, you should make contact with a host supervisor in the Department of Chemistry, and ask them to put you forward for this scheme. Your host supervisor will provide you with further information on the precise application materials needed. The next deadline for submission of all the application materials is 26th January 2018.

Eligibility

Applicants should be a U.K. citizen or an EU national who has been in the U.K. for at least 3 years. Each host supervisor is only allowed to support the application of one student per year.
