Amity University [IN] London, working in partnership with the University of Bolton, offers PhD programmes in the heart of London. Our Bloomsbury site is located a stone’s throw from the University of London, whose state-of-the-art facilities we use to enhance our students’ experience.

PhD: Full Time 3 to 4 years, Part Time 5 to 7 years

In collaboration with the University of Bolton, Amity offers doctoral programmes for research in business management and information technology.

As a doctoral student, you are expected to contribute through original research to the advancement of knowledge in your chosen academic field. It is a challenging pursuit but a most rewarding one, and serves not only to develop your own skills and knowledge, but to help the work of an international community of fellow researchers and professionals.

In applying for doctoral study, applicants are required to submit a detailed research proposal setting out the general area of research, the intended contribution to the field of study, an indication of the research methods to be followed, and a full bibliography. Applications are accepted on the strength of the research proposal, as well as an applicant's motivation and prior academic attainment, as the main factors leading to confidence in their chances of completion.

Research degrees offer you the opportunity to develop and demonstrate your ability to undertake research into an area of personal or professional interest

The award of a UK doctorate is based solely upon individual research, presented in the form of a thesis. Doctoral study is normally available only to students holding a Master’s degree in a subject area relevant to the PhD research proposal. However, Amity may consider applications from candidates with extensive relevant professional experience or non-Master’s degree qualifications on a case-by-case basis.

If you are considering a research degree now or in the future, you should contact the Admission Office to request further information.
