Swansea University/College of Science: two PhD Scholarships in Tailored Nanomaterials for Biomedical and Energy Applications

Project descriptions:

We invite applications for two PhD positions funded by the EPSRC. Successful candidates can choose one of the following projects:

  1. Materials for cancer immunotherapy
  2. Next generation nanomedicine: developing the capacity of polymeric materials for the engineering of morphologically discrete, biodegradable and smart nanovectors
  3. Fluorous interface engineering for efficient CO2 reduction
  4. Solar optofluidic device for flow chemistry and artificial photosynthesis
  5. Synthesis and characterisation of novel microporous materials for Mixed Matrix Membranes (MMMs) and Catalysis applications

Requirements:

Candidates must have at least an upper second-class honours BSc, MSci/MChem UK degree, or equivalent EU qualification in a relevant discipline, a good background in chemistry and a strong interest in interdisciplinary research. Funding:

This is a three year fully-funded Swansea University scholarship, open to UK/EU candidates. The student will receive an annual stipend of £14,553 plus full UK/EU tuition fees.
