Warwick’s MRC-Funded DTP in Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research

Fully funded four year studentships are available for September 2019 entry to join our PhD training programme that integrates world-leading, laboratory-based biomedical research with engineering and the computational and physical sciences.

PROGRAMME CONTENT

A series of taught modules, including frontier methods in biomedical research, principles and techniques in molecular biology and analytical science, advanced microscopy and imaging, molecular modelling and physical biology of the cell and two laboratory-based research projects leading to an MSc in Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research.

The MSc year is followed by a three-year PhD project in either molecular, cellular and tissue dynamics; microbiology and infection; applied biomedical technologies or artificial intelligence and data science – with the possibility of a collaboration with industry or an international placement at either an A*STAR institute, Singapore or at the MRC Unit in The Gambia.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS, FUNDING AND HOW TO APPLY

Entry Requirements

A strong first degree (2:1 or above), or international equivalent in a relevant subject. Please see the website for further information about academic entry and residency requirements.

Funding

Studentships covering full fees, consumables budget and annual stipend (£15,040* in 2019/20). Students also receive individual funding for conference attendance and can apply for additional funding for high cost and exceptional training opportunities.
