Profile Description

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities invites applications for Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC)-funded doctoral studentships as partners in the CHASE AHRC Doctoral Training Partnership: http://www.chase.ac.uk

Across the CHASE Consortium up to 56 studentships will be awarded in 2019.

Language, Communication and Translation Studies
Literature, Drama and Creative Writing
Museum and Heritage Studies
Philosophy
Political, Social and International Studies

The AHRC studentships are available to UK and EU residents: for UK residents awards consist of fees and a tax-free maintenance stipend (currently £14,777 per year); for EU residents awards are on a fees-only basis. In addition, a research training support grant will cover professional development opportunities, including the enhancement of public engagement skills and placements with CHASE partner organisations in the UK and overseas.

The Faculty will also offer a number of University-funded PhD studentships to students from within or outside the EU across the areas of study above. The University studentships cover tuition fees and a tax-free maintenance stipend (currently £14,777 per year).

Application deadline is Friday 11 January 2019.

The Faculty also invites applications to the South East Network for Social Sciences (SeNSS), a social sciences focused research and doctoral training partnership (DTP) funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).
